Start with one useful task

A guide to learning here

Choose your path, understand the platform requirements and keep your progress.

A simple learning routine

Pick the app you need this week. Follow the course in order if you are new, or search for the exact task you need. Read the learning goal and platform note before opening a practice file.

Follow the example, attempt the exercise, then open the expected-result section. Check your actual Office output before marking the lesson complete. The three-question self-check includes explanations so you can correct a misunderstanding rather than only see a score.

Progress, bookmarks and reading settings

Completion marks, saved lessons and your last visited lesson stay in local storage on this browser and device. They do not sync through an account. Another browser, private session or cleared site storage can start with no progress.

If browser storage is blocked or full, the page keeps your changes in memory and shows that they will not persist. The lesson reader also offers larger text, a dark reading area and printing. These preferences do not change the Chinese website.

Windows, Mac and the web

Basic editing, tables and standard formulas work across many current editions, but menus and shortcuts vary. Common Mac save, copy and undo shortcuts use Command; do not assume every Windows shortcut maps directly.

Word mail merge, advanced sections and macro workflows need desktop tools. PowerPoint slide-master editing and template creation also use the desktop application. Native chart authoring, recording, export and media options vary by version.

Excel for Microsoft 365 on Mac and Excel for the web have Power Query capabilities, with different supported sources and account requirements. The Power Pivot/DAX modeling exercises need a supported Windows desktop edition. Excel for the web does not create, edit or run VBA macros.

Modern functions such as XLOOKUP and dynamic arrays require a compatible edition. Formula examples use commas between arguments; some regional settings require semicolons. Preserve text identifiers and interpret dates deliberately when importing CSV files.

Excel formula language and separators

The examples use English function names. If your Excel uses another function language, use the equivalent name shown by your app or its official function guide.

Some regional settings use semicolons between arguments instead of commas. Where a direct conversion is suitable, the lesson shows both versions. Choose the one your Excel accepts; you do not need to change your system settings. Decimal numbers and array constants may need additional local syntax changes.

For example, =SUM(A1,B1) and =SUM(A1;B1) use different argument separators. They add the same two cells when entered in an installation that accepts that separator.

How we check lessons

The content review date records when we checked the instructions, sample calculations and practice material. A text review is separate from opening a file in an Office app.

Practice downloads identify their purpose. File checks record the app and platform actually used; they do not claim that every Office edition has been tested. If a menu differs, use the platform note and the linked Microsoft guide.

Using Copilot

Every practical lesson can be completed without Copilot. If it appears in your account, use the optional prompt after understanding the manual steps. Keep the original file and verify generated text, numbers and sources against your own evidence.

Copilot availability and individual features depend on your Microsoft account, plan, organization and rollout. A prompt on this website is an example for you to copy; it does not call Copilot or send your Office documents anywhere.

Practice and feedback

Download the files from Resources and follow the import notes. Some lessons include editable DOCX, XLSX or PPTX files. CSV datasets and text briefs are also available; each download tells you which lesson it belongs to.

If a step differs from your app, check the official source and platform note. For corrections, include the page URL, app version, exact step and the result you saw. Do not include confidential work files or real customer records in an example.
